LOST COVE

Rich in legend, steeped in the history of the Cumberland Plateau, the 3,000-acre Lost Cove and Champion Cove property adjacent to the Domain of The University of the South is one of the finest remnants of indigenous hardwood forest in the region.

Today, a rare and wonderful opportunity presents itself to preserve the tract in perpetuity. Led by the Land Trust for Tennessee and The University of the South, a campaign is underway to raise resources for the purchase of the property and to place it in a conservation easement held by The Land Trust and owned and managed by Sewanee for scientific study and responsible recreation. The initiative is part of the University’s continuing efforts to fund environmental education and stewardship.

We invite you to learn more about this critical project, and to join us in sustaining Lost Cove.
